PRODUCTION MANAGER JOB SUMMARY:

A well-established Poole-based business is looking for an experienced, motivated Production Manager / Supervisor to take ownership of production planning, scheduling, and delivery performance, within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This is a hands-on leadership role focused on driving structure, improving schedule adherence, and ensuring a “right first time” approach to quality.

PRODUCTION MANAGER KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage production plans in line with demand, capacity, and materials
  • Lead daily/weekly/monthly scheduling and drive on-time, in-full (OTIF) delivery
  • Improve schedule adherence and reduce reactive firefighting
  • Coordinate across Engineering, Purchasing, QA, and Operations
  • Track performance, resolve issues, and lead root cause analysis
  • Champion quality standards and continuous improvement (Lean)
  • Lead, develop, and performance manage the production team
  • Create job cards, ensure that targets / KPI’s are set, and establish regular cadence (production reviews, issue resolution, KPI tracking) to monitor performance
  • Oversee and improve processes, documentation and work instructions
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement strategies
  • Manage, supervise and lead the production team, setting objectives aligned to delivery and quality
  • Hold regular 1-2-1’s with team to ensure optimum performance across the production team.

THE IDEAL PRODUCTION MANAGER WILL HAVE:

  • Previous experience in a Production Manager, Production Supervisor, or similar Warehouse / Operations role
  • Strong planning, scheduling, and organisational skills
  • Proven ability to meet production targets and deadlines
  • Hands-on leadership style with a focus on accountability and quality
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement methodologies
  • Engineering or manufacturing-related qualification (or equivalent, through experience)
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (desirable)
