PRODUCTION CONTROLLER / SCHEDULER JOB SUMMARY:

This is a fantastic Opportunity to join a well-established, with a steady order book and growth focused mindset.  You will be based out of the Salisbury offices and would be required to work full time on site as this role does involve a lot of interaction with teams in the office, as well as on the shop floor.

Previous experience at a similar level, within an Engineering or Manufacturing environment is essential for this position, given the nature of the workload and the customer expectations.

PRODUCTION CONTROLLER / SCHEDULER KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain overall production and delivery schedules using an MRP data system
  • Raise job cards/drawings in line with customer requirements.
  • Coordinate transfer of parts between Manufacture, testing, and final inspection
  • Level load production areas based on MRP scheduling data and requirements by the issuing of work orders
  • Troubleshoot scheduling and process bottlenecks and ensure that customers are kept informed of any delays / changes or issues with order progress
  • Coordinate with production and inventory personnel for shortages as identified through MRP scheduling operations
  • Provide daily, weekly, and monthly scheduling updates to the relevant teams
  • Provide Recovery programs in conjunction with Program Management and Operations
  • Update shop floor work boards and hold regular meetings to provide status of each part in the portfolio of work.

PRODUCTION CONTROLLER / SCHEDULER KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:  

 

  • Manufacturing / Engineering industry sector experience – essential
  • Familiarity with MRP / Scheduling systems is required, although training on in house packages will be provided
  • A working knowledge of manufacturing processes and how scheduling interacts with upstream / downstream functions – essential
  • The ability to multi task is very important – you will be managing your own portfolio of customers and will therefore have multiple orders at varying stages / levels, at any one time.
  • Good computer skills and the ability to query, monitor, and input MRP system data – essential
  • You will need to demonstrate a good understanding of process flows and the needs of the functional areas (Engineering, Production, Quality, Suppliers)
  • Excellent communication skills – you will be managing your own portfolio of customers, and interact with various internal stakeholders on a daily basis. The ability to communicate with people at all levels, both in person, on the phone and via email, is essential
  • Ability to multi task is key in this position – you will spend a lot of time in the office, as well as on the shop floor, so managing your own work schedule and time frame is important
