HEAD OF HR JOB SUMMARY:

Our Poole based client is looking for an experienced HR Business Partner with experience across all aspects of HR.  This is a fixed term 12-month contract, and during this time, the HR Manager will be required to step in and deliver the full spectrum of HR support, reporting directly into the Board.  The organisation is going through a period of significant growth and therefore, experience of working with senior management teams, and advising the business from an HR and people capacity, is crucial.  The successful HR Manager will be overseeing a small HR team, and the day to day HR administration, as required.  Previous Projects and process implementation experience would be required, as the HR Manager will take responsibility for all ongoing projects relating to people and culture, across the organisation.

HEAD OF HR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide effective employee relations support to all line managers.
  • Identify new HR initiatives and present recommendations to the Directors.
  • Define and implement a training and development agenda.
  • Facilitate talent and succession planning.
  • Work closely with the Directors in determining compensation and benefits offered.
  • Provide the necessary tools and coaching to managers in support of performance management.
  • Support managers in the recruitment of new permanent staff by assisting with all administrative processes involved.
  • Prepare and assist the Directors to establish any spend requirements within the HR function and define added value outcomes related to that investment.
  • Update and communicate company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant employment legislation and UK HR best practice.
  • Continuously update all line managers.
  • Provide training, support and coaching on processes and procedures where required.
  • Keep up to date with forthcoming changes in employment related legislation and ensure company compliance.

HEAD OF HR KEY SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:  

  • The Head of HR should have proven experience working as a HR Generalist, Head of HR / HR Manager (or equivalent), ideally within a SME.
  • Experience dealing with internal stakeholders at senior level.
  • Be a pro-active self-starter.
  • Ability to manage and produce reports.
  • Good working knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
