BUYER JOB SUMMARY:

Due to continued growth, we are excited to be working with a Salisbury based organisation, to help them expand their team with the addition of a Buyer.

Hours:  Monday – Thursday 8am-5pm, and 8am – 12pm on a Friday.

BUYER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Confidently utilise and update in house MRP / ERP system, ensuring information is accurate and up to date at all times
  • Action MRP exception messages, schedule ins/out and cancellations in a timely manner.
  • Progress overdue orders on a weekly basis and liaise with relevant third parties to ensure everyone is updated with progress.
  • Ensure latest projected supply dates from vendors are maintained accurately on the ERP system to ensure production lines of balance are accurate.
  • Manage the Supplier relationships including Quality and Supply issues.
  • Improving supplier Performance and building a successful Supply Chain.
  • Send out Open Order Books to select Suppliers on a regular basis.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Production Team, giving updates on overdue materials.

 BUYER KEY SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:  

  • Previous experience as a Buyer within a technology/engineering/manufacturing company (ideally mechanical/aerospace).
  • Experience in influencing and / or negotiating.
  • Supplier Relationship management.
  • Able to work to financial and time sensitive constraints.
  • A collaborative mindset, with the ability to also work independently
  • Hands on approach, with a keen interest in assisting with additional tasks / projects, as required.
