BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT JOB SUMMARY:
We are looking to appoint a Business Development Manager whose primary focus will be to continually promote and enhance the service offering across a vast customer network. You will be given the autonomy to manage your workload and time to enable you to maximise business volumes and strive for growth through nurturing customer relationships.
Previous experience of working in a Financial Services / FCA regulated environment is essential for this role, as is CeMap / equivalent qualifications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER:
- Develop business connections with prospect customers, promoting the services of the organisation and gaining their commitment to utilise and benefit from the service offering
- Conduct initial meetings with potential appointed representative firms to establish their suitability as a prospect customer.
- Build and maintain close working relationships with all broker firms to ensure they are up-to-date with the services on offer.
- Work closely with the sales and marketing team to promote and support specific marketing exercises and initiatives
- Identify and explore business development opportunities to increase sales across a national network
- Provide timely reports detailing the results of activity.
- Carry out ad hoc projects / tasks as required
- Ensure behaviour reflects high standards in line with FCA regulations and expectations of achieving an overall positive outcome for customers.
KEY SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
- Previous experience of working to targets and KPI’s are essential – as a Business Development Manager, your results will be measured against agreed objectives and targets
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience of working in a business development / sales role, within Financial Services / FCA regulated environments.
- A proactive, professional approach and the ability to work well under pressure
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and use your own initiative
- Practical knowledge / experience across Insurance, Protection, Financial services, or Mortgages – essential
- Full UK Drivers Licence – essential – you will be provided with a car allowance, but will be expected to have a full UK drivers licence
- Travel will be an expectation of this role – you will need to be available to attend meetings / stay away from home as and when required.
- CeMap qualification / equivalent – essential for this role
